Guest Lecture: Prof. Carl Malamud on Access to (All) Knowledge
The Centre for Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law in collaboration with Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access [IDIA], Rajasthan Chapter, National Law University Jodhpur hosted Prof (Dr.) Carl Malamud for a guest lecture on August 16, 2018. Dr. Malamud addressed the students on the topic ‘Access to (all) Knowledge’ and also discussed the comparison between the treatment of the ‘edicts of government’ under the U.S and Indian
Constitutions.
Carl Malamud is a former visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Laboratory and is the former chairman of the Internet Software Consortium. Being a public domain activist, Dr. Malamud is also the founder of Public.Resource.Org, a California-based NGO. Public Resource has been working intensively in India, including an effort to make available all Indian Standards for free on the net, an issue that is the subject of Public Internet Litigation suit in the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi. Dr. Malamud has authored over 8 books and has also worked closely with the Obama administration.
