Symposium on Dr. Ambedkar’s Legacy & Constitutional Silences | 14 April, 2026

Centre for Constitutional Law & Administrative Law (CCAL), at National Law University, Jodhpur is delighted to share that the Symposium on Dr. Ambedkar's Legacy and Constitutional Silences, concluded on a gratifying note. The Symposium was conducted in the august presence of our patron, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Vice Chancellor, National Law University, Jodhpur. We were also joined by Shri Rajesh Mohan, Deputy Secretary, Lok Sabha who shared his thoughts on constitutional silences and Dr. Ambedkar's legacy.

The symposium critically engaged with the idea of constitutional silences and reflected upon Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s constitutional vision by examining the gaps, absences, and interpretive challenges within India’s constitutional framework We are especially honoured to have marked the occasion with the launch of the Special Issue of the Comparative Constitutional Law & Administrative Law Journal (CALJ): “Decoding Constitutional Silences: Experiences from India”, a milestone that we are deeply proud of.

We were honoured to have with us the contributors of the Special Issue: Senior Advocate V. Sudhish Pai, Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi, Dr. Manisha Mirdha, Dr. Sayantani Bagchi, Ms. Jwalika Balaji, Mr. Anshul Dalmia, and Sinchan Chatterjee whose dedication, and scholarly engagement were truly commendable.
